Pyramid & Challenge Ladder
The AP Multi-Day & Pyramid Challenge Ladder is seeded by the original AP Multi-Day Ladder and all positions originate from those results. Movement on the Ladder will be recorded by member performance in future qualifying Multi-Day Tournaments and Challenge Matches. When the Challenger wins, the player will swap positions with the Challengee. When the Challengee wins, no change will be made to ladder positions. All matches will be automatically reported to Ace Point daily results.
How To Issue A Challenge
  1. Login at the link above. New Users Only: Upon initial registration you will be assigned a temporary password. Please change this temporary password at the Account page.
  2. View the current Pyramid standings at the Rankings page. Your current position on the Pyramid will be in bold red type.
  3. Click on the player ID whom you wish to challenge. You may only challenge a player ranked higher than you in your current row or anyone in the row directly above you. You must wait 3 days after a match report before Challenging or being Challenged by the same player.
Challenge Match Details
Match Points
All Challenge matches will be a minimum of 11 points and a maximum of 21 points. In case of disupte, the Challengee will overrule. You may update your preferred match length at the Account page.
Match Scheduling
The Challengee should offer 3 possible match days/times within the Challenge period for match completion. After a mutually suitable match date has been set, commence play. Unless requested by the Ladder Admin, there is no need to foward copies of match scheduling correpondence attempts. You may update your preferred playing availability at the Account page. NOTE: It is the player's responsibility to maintain a valid email address and to periodically check their email. All disputes concerning invalid email addresses or lack of periodic inbox monitoring will be denied. If you need to update or change your email address, login and go to the Account page.
No-Show's, Booted Players, & Incompleted Matches
Give your opponent 20 minutes to arrive at the agreed match time. Should your opponent fail to appear for your scheduled match, please make a 2nd attempt to schedule match completion. After 2 attempts, please notify tem_sat via the Support page. If your opponent boots or disconnects while the match is in progress, please allow 20 minutes for them to return. Should your opponent not return after 20 minutes, the match must be saved and an attempt made for rescheduling. If either player requires a save, both players are to note the score and save the match at the end of any game. The match must be rescheduled, restarted, and restored at the current score. For assistance or disputes, contact tem_sat at the Support page.
Report Loss
The loser of the Challenge match reports the match loss. To report your Challenge match loss, go to the Report Chall Loss page. You may also report your Challenge match via the link emailed to you when your Challenge was issued. You must complete your Challenge match within the alloted time or you may risk an automatic forfeit.
Cancellations, Forfeits, & Resting Players
Cancelling Challenges
Only the Challenger may cancel a Challenge within a 3 day grace period, without penalty, starting from the original Challenge issue date. After the expiration of the grace period, the Challenge may not be cancelled. To cancel a Challenge, go to the Report Chall Loss page. You may also cancel your Challenge via the link emailed to you when your Challenge was issued.
Forfeiting Challenges
Only the Challengee may forfeit a Challenge, resulting in an automatic win for the Challenger. To forfeit a Challenge, go to the Report Chall Loss page. You may also forfeit your Challenge via the link emailed to you when your Challenge was issued.
Automated Forfeits by Bot
Should a Challenge match go unplayed with no response from the Challengee after reminder emails and the expiration of the 10 day Challenge, the Challenger will automatically be awarded the Challenge Match win. The Challenge Ladder Admin will be notified and an immediate match report will be posted to Ace Point Backgammon League's daily statistics on the Member's behalf.
Break From Ladder -- Resting Players
A player may elect to take a break from the ladder at any time and they will be added to the list of Resting Players viewed on the Rankings page. All resting players will be placed at the bottom of the ladder after rejoining. To place yourself on the list of Resting Players or to rejoin the ladder, login and go to the Account page.
Icons, Player Statistics, & Automated Email Reminders
Icons
The Challenge Range icon, viewed on the Rankings page, shows players within your legal Challenge range. A red C by a player's name indicates that they are currently under challenge and may not be challenged until their Challenge match is completed and reported. The Player Profile beneath the player ID denotes a link to that specific player's contact information (match point preferences and availability), email address, and match history.
Player Statistics
As mentioned above, individual player statistics may be viewed on the Rankings page by clicking on the Player Profile beneath the player ID, which provides a link to that specific player's contact information (match point preferences and availability), email address, and match history.
Email Reminders
Automated email notifications will be sent out for unreported Challenge match reminders and upon the issuance of Challenges, cancellation of Challenges, and forfeiture of Challenges.
